EXTERIOR PAINT COLOURS

The following information outlines the single and two-tone paint schemes used on 2001 model year Lexus vehicles.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES: All 2001 model year Lexus vehicles.

PAINTING METHOD:







Single Colour - The cladding and bumpers are painted the same as the body colour.
Two-Tone Colour - The cladding and bumpers are painted alike and are a different colour than the body colour.

REPAIR PRECAUTION:
Since heat deformation of the cladding occurs more easily than with bumpers, repair and refinishing of cladding panels is not recommended. If original parts are to be refinished, observe the following precautions during the refinish/drying process:

1. To prevent cladding warpage, hold the cladding panels firmly in place and keep the drying temperature below 50°C (122°F).
2. Since the cladding and bumpers are made of flexible plastic urethane material, use a two part urethane finish paint system with plasticizer for all bumper/cladding repairs.
