IDENTIFICATION METHOD FOR NAVIGATION SYSTEMS AND DVD MAP DATA

Introduction
The purpose of this bulletin is to clarify the navigation system specifications for 2001 and 2002 model year Lexus vehicles.

Map Database Identification
Use the Applicable Vehicles chart on the previous page to determine the software version applicable to your vehicle, OR do the following:
On the navigation menu screen go to the map database status screen to identify the current DVD software version installed:
1. Press MENU.
2. Press the DVD button on the display.
^ Generation 2 map data will be displayed as "data 2000 Ver. 1."
^ Generation 3 map data will be displayed as "data 2001 Ver. 1."
NOTE:
Installing a 2001 Version 1 disc into a vehicle that originally came with a 2000 Version 1 disc is a one-way process. Once the 2001 Version 1 disc is inserted Into the navigation ECU, the 2000 Version 1 disc may no longer be playable in that navigation ECU.
Features Summary
The features shown are some of the major changes or additions to the 2001 model year factory installed software settings. Some vehicles (denoted by the "3" in the Applicable Vehicles chart on the previously shown ) have added features that are unique to these vehicles with upgraded navigation ECUs.
NOTE:
These are the major changes that customers may notice when operating the navigation system. Other changes have been made to the navigation operating system to enhance the overall navigation system performance.
