Oxygen Sensor: Testing and Inspection

HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

INSPECTION

1. Bank 1,2 Sensor 1: INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

a. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
b. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals +B and HT.

Resistance: 11 - 16 ohms at 20 °C (68 °F)

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.

Torque: 44 N.m (450 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)

c. Reconnect the oxygen sensor connector.

2. Bank 1,2 Sensor 2: INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

a. Take out the floor carpet.
b. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
c. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals +B and HT.

Resistance: 11 - 16 ohms at 20 °C (68 °F)

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.

Torque: 44 N.m (450 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)

d. Reconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
e. Install the floor carpet.

3. INSPECT OPERATION OF HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
