Description

The new IS300 has adopted a body construction that achieves both high rigidity and safety.

Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body

1. High Strength Sheet Steel





High strength sheet steel has been used in order to ensure body rigidity and realize a lightweight body.

2. Body Shell





The panels, members, and reinforcements have been effectively located to ensure high rigidity and to realize excellent stability and controllability.

1: A dash panel cross member is used to join the right and left side members.

2: A large, integrated spring support plate is provided in the front suspension to join the upper member and the front side members together with the spring support.

3: The partition panel frame has been optimally located and the comers have been reinforced with separate panels to improve the torsional rigidity.

4: A large reinforcement is used for joining the back window frame with the quarter panels to improve the joining rigidity between the roof and the pillars.
