Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine and road noise.
2. Sound Absorbing and Vibration Damping Materials
^ Asphalt sheets and asphalt sheets with plastic restraint layer are adopted front and center floor areas to suppress the road noise.
^ Foamed material for sectional shielding and molded plastic foam are adopted at many places to absorb the noise from the locker and pillar portions and the noise through hollow portions for wind and road noise reduction.
^ A hood insulator is used for suppressing the engine noise.
^ A cowl to hood seal rubber that extends from the cowl to the front edge of the fender is provided to suppress the engine noise.
^ The front side member to dash panel cross member and dash panel to cowl brace are adopted to suppress dash panel vibration for reduction of road noise.
