IMPROVEMENT TO IGNITION CYLINDER PERFORMANCE

Some customers may complain of not being able to turn their ignition key inside the ignition cylinder. If this condition is found on one of the models listed below, built before the starting VIN list, it is important to not "re-key" the new ignition cylinder to the customer's original key. Use the NEW key accompanying the new ignition cylinder. For customer satisfaction, Lexus recommends the entire key set be replaced as a repair for this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
2001 model year IS 300, LX 470, and RX 300 vehicles produced BEFORE the VINs shown below.

Each ignition key cylinder has a production information stamping similar to the one shown. Please confirm your service parts are post countermeasure before installation.
