Front Seat:

FRONT SEAT

OVERHAUL

HINT:
- Installation is in the reverse order of removal. But, the installation is indicated only when it has a point.
- In the RH side, work in the same procedure as in the LH side.
- See the components' drawing of front seat.

1. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Using a screwdriver, pry out the 4 seat track covers.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Remove the 4 bolts.
c. Disconnect the connectors.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the nut and the front seat inner belt assembly then disconnect the clamp.

4. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
5. REMOVE SLIDE & VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
6. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH




7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER NO.1 LH
a. Remove the screws.
b. Using a screwdriver, pry out the front seat cushion shield inner No.1.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




8. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER LH
a. Remove the 4 screws and reclining adjuster cover then disconnect the connectors.




9. REMOVE LUMBAR FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH
a. Remove the 2 screws and lumbar front power seat switch.




10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH
a. Remove the 3 screws and front seat cushion shield inner.




11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the reclining remote control lever knob.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Remove the 2 screws.
c. Remove the front seat back board as shown in the illustration.

12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 bolts and the front seat cushion assembly.




13. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the hog rings.
b. Disconnect the connectors and disengage the clamps.
c. Remove the 4 bolts and the seat back assembly.

14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT




16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK BOARD
a. Remove the 4 bolts and front seat back board.

17. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK SPRING ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the hog rings and the front seat back spring assembly from the front seat back cover with pad.
b. Remove the 2 nuts and side airbag.

18. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK COVER
a. Remove the hog rings and front seat back cover from the front seat back pad.

19. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 3 screws and front power seat switch.

20. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH
a. Remove the 2 screws and reclining inside cover.

21. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

22. REMOVE SPRING ASSEMBLY, FR SEAT CUSHION, LH
a. Remove the hog rings and the front seat cushion spring assembly.

23. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
a. Remove the hog rings and front seat cushion cover from the front seat cushion pad.

24. REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 6 screws and the 3 power seat motor assemblies.

25. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER




a. Install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion pad with new hog rings.
b. Install the seat cushion cover with pad to the seat cushion spring assembly with new hog rings.

HINT:
- Do not damage the seat cushion cover nor make it dirty.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as much as possible.

26. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
a. Install the front seat cushion spring assembly with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)

27. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK COVER
a. Install the seat back cover to the seat cushion pad with new hog rings.
b. Install the side air bag with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)




c. Install the seat back cover with pad to the seat back spring assembly with new hog rings.

HINT:
- Do not damage the seat back cover nor make it dirty.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as much as possible.

28. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY
a. Install the front seat back assembly with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 43 N.m (439 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)

b. Install the hog rings and turn down the seat back cover.

29. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the front seat inner belt with the nut.

Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the clamp.

30. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the front seat.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the body.

b. Connect the connector.
c. Install the 4 bolts.

Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)

d. Install the 4 seat track covers.
