Component Tests and General Diagnostics
INSPECTION1. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAGE ASSY
a. Check fuel sender gauge (main) resistance.
1. Remove the fuel sender gauge.
Standard Resistance:
2. Measure resistance between terminals of fuel sender gauge for each float position, as shown in the chart.
b. Check fuel sender gauge (sub) resistance.
1. Remove the fuel sender gauge.
Standard Resistance:
2. Measure resistance between terminals of fuel sender gauge for each float position, as shown in the chart.
2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
a. Check continuity.
1. Disconnect the connector from seat belt inner belt RH.
2. Check continuity between terminals 2 and 5 when buckle switch condition, as shown in the chart.
3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
a. Check continuity.
1. Disconnect the connector from seat belt inner belt RH.
2. Check continuity between terminals 2 and 4 when buckle switch condition, as shown in the chart.
4. INSPECT SEPARATE SEAT TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD
a. Check that continuity exists between the terminal when pressing the sensing part of seat cushion.
5. INSPECT LEVEL WARNING SWITCH ASSY
a. Check washer level warning switch continuity.
b. Check that no continuity exists between terminals with switch OFF (float up).
c. Check that continuity exists between terminals with switch OFF (float down).
6. INSPECT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSY
a. Check brake fluid warning switch continuity.
1. Check that no continuity exists between terminals with switch OFF (float up).
2. Check that continuity exists between terminals with switch OFF (float down).
7. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSY
a. Check parking brake switch continuity.
1. Check that continuity exists between terminal and switch body with the switch ON (switch pin released).
2. Check that no continuity exists between terminal and switch body with the switch OFF (switch pin pushed in).
8. INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
a. Check continuity between terminal 1 and 2 of light control rheostat when light control rheostat operation as shown in the chart.
b. Check light control rheostat resistance.
1. Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and 3 of light control rheostat.
Standard resistance: Approx. 10 kOhm
2. Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and 4 of light control rheostat when operating the light control rheostat. Check that the resistance value changes continuously.
Standard resistance:
When turned fully clockwise: Approx. 10 kOhm
When turned fully counterclockwise: Approx. 0 kOhm
