CUSTOMIZE FUNCTION - DIAGNOSTIC PROGRAM CARD VERSION 9.1A (OR LATER)
The Customize feature for the Lexus Diagnostic Tester allows Lexus Dealers to customize many of the electrical functions on 2002 model year LS430 vehicles to match individual customer desires. This bulletin will provide you with a comprehensive list of available features for customization on this model only. Individual bulletins will be released for each 2002 Lexus model.
NOTE:
These functions require version 9.1a, or later, software. Diagnostic Tester software can be updated using E-TAS. Please note that this reprogramming process can only be completed if you have Windows 95, 98 or 2000 software and have access to ETAS (RIMS Dealers only).
APPLICABLE VEHICLES: 2002 model year LS430 vehicles.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:
In cases where dealers maintain a vehicle service history database, a detailed description, including the old setting and the new setting should be entered into the vehicle's service history as a note.
NOTE:
Having these records in the vehicle service history database is very important. If a customer decides that they preferred a previous setting, they may not be able to provide the Dealer with a correct description of the function or its previous setting.
OPERATION PROCEDURE:
The following steps show the user how to access the "FUNCTION SELECT" screen for customizing.
1. Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and turn to the "ON" position.
2. Connect the Lexus Diagnostic Tester to DLC3 and press the "ON" key.
3. Using the Diagnostic Tester, follow the screen flow to access the customize function select menu.
NOTE:
Before changing any customize item, be sure to record the current value.
NOTE:
Issue of this Technical Service Bulletin is to ensure that proper repair information is available. IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN AUTHORIZATION FOR REPAIR. Normal provisions of the formal warranty policy, as applicable, will apply.
