Wiper and Washer Systems: Description and Operation
SYSTEM OUTLINEThe vehicle condition is input into the passenger side J/B ECU through the communication control of the J/B ECU and door ECU etc., and controls the wiper and washer.
1. INTERMITTENT OPERATION IN ACCORDANCE TO VEHICLE SPEED
The wipers operate intermittently when the wiper SW is turned to INT position. The time interval set at the wiper SW interval adjuster is controlled in accordance to the vehicle speed, by the passenger side J/B ECU.
2. WIPER SPEED CHANGE IN ACCORDANCE TO VEHICLE SPEED
The wiper operation is changed to intermittent operation, when the shift is at P or N position with the stop light SW ON or parking brake SW ON, and/or the vehicle speed at 0 km/h, after 2 sweeps.
When the wiper SW is turned to LO position from other positions, after 3 sweeps, the wiper operation is changed to intermittent operation.
3. WASHER OPERATION WITH WIPER OPERATION
When the washer SW is pushed, the wipers operate 3 times at low speed, and the washer motor operates. A few seconds later, the wipers operate at low speed once, to sweep the windshield completely, if the vehicle speed is below 170 km/h.
