Fuel Door: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. REMOVE FLOOR MAT
2. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD
a. Remove the clip and deck trim side board.
b. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
3. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
a. Remove the 2 bolts and luggage hold belt strikers.
b. Remove the 5 clips.
c. Using a screwdriver, remove the rear floor finish plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM SIDE COVER
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the side trim tool bag cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the bolt and luggage hold belt striker.
c. Remove the 2 clips and luggage compartment trim side cover.
5. REMOVE FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL
a. Remove the nut.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Remove the nut and fuel filler lid opener solenoid.
6. REMOVE FUEL FILLER SHIELD
a. Remove the 4 screws.
b. Remove the fuel tank cap and shield.
CAUTION: Always keep the tank cap closed when it is not required to be open. Keep all fire away during the operation.
c. Install the fuel tank cap quickly.
7. REMOVE FUEL TANK CAP HANGER
Pull up the fuel tank cap hanger to remove it.
8. REMOVE FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK RETAINER
Remove the nut and fuel filler opening lid lock retainer.
9. REMOVE FUEL LID OPENING SPRING
Insert a screwdriver between the spring and fuel filler opening lid to remove the spring as shown in the illustration.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
10. REMOVE FUEL FILLER OPENING LID
a. Using a drill, drill out the rivet heads.
b. Remove the fuel filler opening lid.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FUEL FILLER OPENING LID
Using a riveter, install the fuel filler opening lid with the 2 rivets to the body.
NOTE:
- Do not prize a riveter, as riveter is damaged, it it not tightened and the mandrel is bent.
- Do not tilt the riveter and disconnect the rivet from the material while handling a riveter, as the materials are not tightened firmly.
- Install the rivet while attaching materials, as they are not tightened firmly.
2. INSTALL FUEL FILLER OPENING SPRING
3. INSTALL FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK RETAINER
Install the fuel filler opening lid lock retainer with the nut.
4. INSTALL FUEL TANK CAP HANGER
5. INSTALL FUEL FILLER SHIELD
a. Remove the fuel tank cap.
b. Install the fuel filler shield to the body.
c. Install the fuel tank cap quickly.
CAUTION: Always keep the tank cap closed when it is not required to be open. Keep all fire away during the operation.
d. Install the 4 screws.
6. INSTALL FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL
a. Install the fuel filler lid opener solenoid with the nut.
b. Connect the connector.
c. Install the nut.
7. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM SIDE COVER LH
a. Install the luggage compartment trim side cover LH with the 2 clips.
b. Install the luggage hold belt striker with the bolt.
c. Install the side trim tool bag cover.
8. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
a. Install the rear floor finish plate with 5 clips.
b. Install the luggage hold belt strikers with 2 bolts.
9. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD
a. Install the deck trim side board with the clip.
b. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
