Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

3. REMOVE ANTI-RATTLE SPRING
4. REMOVE 2 PADS WITH ANTI-SQUEAL SHIMS

HINT: Do not disconnect the pad wear indicator assembly unless the brake pads are to be replaced.

5. DISCONNECT BRAKE HOSE
a. Remove the union bolt and gasket from the caliper, then disconnect the brake hose from the caliper.
Torque: 39 Nm (400 kgf-cm, 29 ft. lbs.)

HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item. Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the caliper.

b. Use a container to catch the brake fluid as it drains out.

6. REMOVE CALIPER
Remove the 2 bolts and caliper from the knuckle.
Torque: 110 Nm (1,122 kgf-cm, 81 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: At the time of installation, since the screwed part is an aluminum knuckle, carefully prevent any foreign matter on the screwed surface and excessive tightening. Pull the caliper toward the outside of the vehicle to remove a play between the pin and the knuckle hole. In this condition, tighten the bolts starting from the one at the lower position, in the order of increasing number from "1". Never fail to observe the above order when tightening them to the specified torque.

HINT: At the time of installation, use 2 new bolts.

INSTALLATION
Installation is to be done in the reverse order of removal.

HINT:
^ After installation, fill the brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed the brake system.
^ Check for leaks.
