Identify Transmitter
IDENTIFY TRANSMITTER CORRESPONDING TO DTC (ERROR IN PRESENT)a. Set the inflation pressure of all tires to the normal set value.
b. Rapidly reduce the pressure of one of any tires to 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/sq.cm, 17 psi) and leave it as it is for 30 sec.
NOTE: Rapidly reduce the inflation pressure of the tires, one by one.
HINT: When rapidly reducing the tire inflation pressure, loosen the valve core.
c. Using a LEXUS hand-held tester, check the inflation pressure data of each wheel.
d. Check that one of the data shows 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/sq.cm, 17 psi).
NOTE: When rapidly reducing another tire inflation pressure, keep the pressure of the checked wheel(s) at 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/sq.cm, 17 psi).
HINT:
- If one of them does not show 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/sq.cm, 17 psi), it means that the tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly for the tire of rapidly reduced pressure corresponds to the output DTC.
- If one of the data shows 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/sq.cm, 17 psi), perform the same procedure to other tires.
IDENTIFY TRANSMITTER CORRESPONDING TO DTC (ERROR IN PAST)
HINT: When rapidly reducing the tire inflation pressure, loosen the valve core.
c. Using a LEXUS hand-held tester, check the inflation pressure data of ID1 wheel.
HINT:
- If the data of ID1 shows 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/sq.cm, 17 psi), it means that the tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly for the tire of rapidly reduced pressure is ID1.
- If the data of ID1 does not shows 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/sq.cm, 17 psi), perform the same procedure to other tires to identify the faulty tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly.
