CONFIRM LOCATION OF WATER LEAK:

1. Lower Rear Headrests.

NOTE:
- If they are not power seats, manually lower the headrests.
- Slide the seats forward to the forward position.

2. Partially Remove Roof Headliner Assembly.
A. Disengage the middle clip first.
B. Then remove the two end clips.
C. Pull the roof headliner assembly downward until the boundary line between the back window and body can be seen.

HINT:
The roof headliner assembly does not have to be removed completely.

CAUTION:
Do NOT crease or damage the headliner.

3. Check Location of Water Leak.

NOTE:
Work in pairs. While one technician uses the air gun inside the vehicle, have a second technician stand outside the vehicle and mark the areas where there is an air leak.

A. Apply soapy water to the moulding area of the back window.

B. Insert the air nozzle of the air gun between the back window and the headliner assembly.
C. Use low air pressure (75 psi max).
D. Move the air gun from the left corner to the right corner while blowing air.
E. Check that bubbles form on the area where the soapy water has been applied.
F. Mark location using grease pen on outside of window.

CAUTION:
To prevent the grease pencil from staining the paint, ensure that the surface temperature of the vehicle exterior does not exceed 75°F (24°C).

NOTE:
- Blow air onto the boundary line between the back window and the sealing.
- If bubbles form on the area where the soapy water has been applied, place a mark using a color pencil on the area of the back window where leaks have been occurring.

4. Remove Roof Side Garnish Inner LH and RH.
A. Using a screwdriver, remove the roof side garnish inner cover.

HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- The roof side garnish inner cover does not have to be removed completely. Separate only the clips on the upper side.

5. Remove Assist Grip Rear LH and RH Sub-assembly.
A. Using the taped screwdriver, remove the assist grip cover.
B. Remove the 2 screws and assist grip.

6. Prevent Adhesion of Urethane.
A. Place a cover on the package tray and the rear seat areas to prevent urethane from adhering to them.

HINT:
Make sure that the package tray area is fully protected using towels or shop rags.

B. Affix masking tape to the headliner assembly.

7. Apply Urethane.
A. Apply urethane to the same area where the water leaks have been found.

NOTE:
- Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle so that the inner diameter of the cut edge is 10 mm (0.39 in.).
- Be careful that the urethane does not adhere to the headliner assembly.
- Priming of area is not necessary as location is already primed from the factory.

B. Using a plastic spatula or small putty knife, smooth the urethane so it becomes flat.

NOTE:
- Use finger if necessary to smooth urethane.
- Make sure that the urethane has no tears or holes.
- Be careful that the urethane does not adhere to the headliner assembly.

C. If water leaks occur around the window glass stopper, apply urethane over the stopper.

D. Allow urethane to dry.

8. Check for Water Leak.

A. Perform the same water leak check as step 3.
