DTC P0751 SHIFT SOLENOID "A" PERFORMANCE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE S1)

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

DTC Detecting Condition:

The ECM uses signals from the vehicle speed sensor and input/turbine speed sensor to detect the actual gear position (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th gear). The ECM then compares the actual gear with the shift schedule in the ECM memory to detect mechanical trouble of the shift solenoid valves, valve body and automatic transmission (clutch, brake or gear etc.).

HINT:
- Start the inspection from step 1 when DTC P0751 and P0761 is output.
- Start the inspection from step 2 when DTC P0756 is output.

Typical Malfunction Thresholds:

Typical Malfunction Thresholds:

The ECM commands gear shifts by turning the shift solenoid valves "ON/OFF". According to the input shaft revolution, intermediate (counter) shaft revolution and output shaft revolution, the ECM detects the actual gear position (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gear position). When the gear position commanded by the ECM and actual gear position are not same, the ECM illuminate the MIL.
