Front Bumper: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

Front Bumper:

HINT: Installation is in the reverse order of removal.




1. REMOVE RADIATOR LOWER AIR DEFLECTOR
a. Remove the 8 clips and the radiator lower air deflector.




2. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSY
a. Turn the pin hold clip 90 degrees as shown in the illustration and remove it. (LH side)

HINT: Remove the RH side by following the same procedure as for the LH side.




b. Remove the 9 screws and the 2 bolts.




c. Disengage the 4 claws by pulling the left side of the front bumper cover in the direction shown by the arrow. (LH side)

HINT: Disengage the RH side by following the same procedure as for the LH side.

d. Disconnect the fog lamp connector (w/ fog lamp) and remove the front bumper assy.




3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER RH
a. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front bumper cover lower.




4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION MOUNTING BRACKET
a. Remove the 2 screws and the front bumper extension mounting bracket.

5. REMOVE FOG LAMP SET LH
6. REMOVE FOG LAMP SET RH
7. REMOVE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LAMP ASSY LH
8. REMOVE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LAMP ASSY RH




9. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER
a. Remove the front bumper energy absorber.




10. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSY
a. Disengage the 6 clamps.




b. Remove the 6 bolts and the front bumper reinforcement sub-assy.




11. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER STAY NO.2 LH
a. Remove the screw.
b. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front bumper stay No.2 LH.

12. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER STAY NO.2 RH

HINT: Removal of the front bumper stay No.2 RH is the same as the front bumper stay No.2 LH.




13. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH
a. Disconnect the wire harness clamp.
b. Remove the nut, bolt and the front bumper side support LH.

14. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

HINT: Removal of the front bumper side support RH is the same as the front bumper side support LH.




15. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE BAR SUB-ASSY LH
a. Remove the 3 bolts and the front bumper side bar sub-assy LH.

16. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE BAR SUB-ASSY RH




17. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH
a. Install the front bumper side support LH with the bolt and nut.

Torque:
Bolt: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf)

b. Connect the wire harness clamp.

18. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH
a. Install the front bumper side support RH with the bolt and nut.

Torque:
Bolt: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf)

b. Connect the wire harness clamp.




19. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSY
a. Install the front bumper reinforcement sub-assy with the 6 bolts.

Torque: 72 N.m (734 kgf.cm, 53 ft.lbf)
