On-Vehicle Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION1. CHECK MEMORY AND REACTIVATION FUNCTION
a. Turn the ignition switch ON and move the shift lever to the P position.
b. Check the seat memory (driver side) M1 switch.
1. Using the outer mirror switch, move the mirror as much as possible to the left.
2. Press and hold down switches M1 and SET. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds, signaling that the outer mirror position has been recorded.
3. Change the position of the outer mirror and then press the M1 switch.Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the outer mirror automatically moves to the position in step (b)-(1).
c. Check the M2 switch.
1. Using the outer mirror switch, move the mirror to the as much as possible to the right.
2. Press and hold down switches M2 and SET. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds, signaling that the outer mirror position has been recorded.
3. Change the position of the outer mirror and then press the M2 switch.Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the outer mirror automatically moves to the position in step (c)-(1).
d. When the outer mirror is in the driving position:
Check that switches M1 and M2 cause the outer mirror to move to the recorded outer mirror positions under these conditions: turn the ignition switch OFF, remove the key from the key cylinder, open the driver side door and press M1 or M2 within 30 seconds.
e. Check that the following procedures will erase the recorded outer mirror positions of switches M1 and M2: press and hold the power seat slide switch; disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal; and wait for at least 1 minute.
f. Check that the outer mirror position is not ,memorized when the M1, M2 and SET switches are pressed and held simultaneously.
2. CHECK ELECTRICALLY-RETRACT DOOR MIRROR (W/ RETRACTABLE MIRROR)
a. Turn the ignition switch ACC.
b. At each position of the outer mirror body, check operation when operating the retract switch of the outer mirror.
1. Put the retract switch from the (A) to the (B) position.
2. Check that the right and left mirrors move from the drive position to the retract position.
3. Move one of the mirrors to the forward position by hand.
4. Put the retract switch from the (A) to the (B) position.
5. Check that the mirror moves from the forward position to the retracted position.
6. Check that the other mirror moves from the drive position to the retract position.
7. Move one of the mirrors to the retract position by hand.
8. Put the retract switch from the (A) to the (B) position.
9. Check that the other mirror moves from the drive position to the retract position.
10. Put the retract switch from the (B) to the (A) position.
11. Check that the right and left mirrors move from the retract position to the drive position.
12. Move one of the mirrors to the drive position by hand.
13. Put the retract switch from the (B) to the (A) position.
14. Check that the other mirror moves from the retract position to the drive position.
c. Check the operation of the outer mirror body in relation to retract switch operations and ignition switch position change.
1. When the mirror body is operating, turn the ignition switch OFF. Check that the mirror operation does not stop and continues until the operation has finished.
2. Repeat the steps. This time, before the mirror operation completes, turn the ignition switch to ACC and press the retract switch.Check that the mirror operates in the opposite direction.
d. Check the operation of the outer mirror body when it is restrained by an obstacle.
1. When the mirror body is moving to the retracted or driving position, restrain the mirror body by hand.Check that the mirror body movement stops.
2. With the mirror body stopped partway in (1), push the retract switch.Check that the mirror body moves in the opposite direction it was moving in (1).
3. CHECK REVERSE-SHIFT-LINKED OPERATION OF MIRRORS
a. Turn the ignition switch ON.
b. Set the mirror master switch in the L or R.
c. Check that the mirror faces downward when the shift lever is moved to the R.
d. When the shift lever is not on P, or the mirror master switch in is the neutral position (OFF), check that the outer rear view mirror returns to the drive position.
