Package Tray Trim Assy:






PACKAGE TRAY TRIM ASSEMBLY

OVERHAUL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.




2. HALF OPEN ROOF PANEL
a. Refer to the MANUAL OPERATING procedures half open the roof.




3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
a. Pull up the front portion of the seat cushion, and then remove it.

NOTE: Hold the base of the clip up to prevent the cushion frame from being distorted.




4. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws labeled A and 2 claws labeled B, and remove the cover.

HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Use the same procedures described for the other side.

5. REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 bolts and wind deflector board.




6. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and 5 claws and remove the plate.

HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Use the same procedures described for the other side.




7. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts and headrest.

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the other side.




8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts and seatback.




9. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK BOARD
a. Remove the bolt.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the board.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




10. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and 5 clips, and remove the scuff plate.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

11. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

12. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY FRONT RH




a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the belt garnish.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




b. Remove the 6 screws and clip labeled A.
c. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips labeled B and remove the trim panel.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

13. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY FRONT LH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

14. RAISE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM ASSEMBLY




a. Place both hands under the rear part of the package tray in positions close to both ends. Raise the package tray trim gradually to 30° to 45°.

CAUTION: Do not place your hands on the edges of the main board.

NOTE: Do not apply direct force to the side board as it is operated in connection with the main board.




b. Disconnect the joints of the cables from the package tray trim gear box.

CAUTION: Take care not to injure your hands when disconnecting the joints.

NOTE:
- As the cable is coated with grease, prevent it from contacting the seat, seat belt or other parts.
- Make sure the removed cable is not pressed against the package tray trim gear box.




c. Raise the package tray trim gradually until it stops.

NOTE: Do not apply direct force to the side board as it is operated in connection with the main board.

15. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the limit switch connectors.
b. Remove the 3 bolts.

NOTE:
- Depending on the angle of the package tray trim, the side board may interfere with the bolt. In this case, adjust the angle to move the side board so that the bolt can be viewed.
- Do not move the side board directly. Be sure to move the main board for adjustment.
- The main board is operated in connection with the side board.

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the other side.




c. Remove the trim as shown in the illustration.

HINT: Keep the package tray trim's right and left shims separate from other part's shims.




16. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY
a. As shown in the illustration, mark the nut positions on the arm of the bracket.

HINT: When replacing the bracket with a new one, mark the arm position on the side board.

b. Remove the 2 nuts and trim panel.

17. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY NO.2
a. Mark the nut positions on the arm of the bracket.

HINT: When replacing the bracket with a new one, mark the arm position on the side board.

b. Remove the 2 nuts and trim panel No. 2.




18. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM UNDER COVER
a. Remove the 9 screws and cover.




19. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY PANEL ASSEMBLY CENTER
a. As shown in the illustration, mark the nut positions on the bracket.

HINT: When replacing the bracket with a new one, mark the bracket position on the panel assembly side.

b. Remove the 4 nuts and panel.




20. REMOVE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH
a. Remove the bolt and protector.
b. Remove the 2 screws and limit switch.




21. REMOVE SWITCH, SLIDE ROOF LIMIT
a. Remove the bolt and protector.
b. Remove the 2 screws and limit switch.




22. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS WEATHERSTRIP RH
a. Remove the weatherstrip from the package tray panel.

23. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the RH side.




24. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS WEATHERSTRIP CENTER
a. Remove the weatherstrip from the package tray trim panel.

25. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET
a. Remove the 2 bolts and bracket.




26. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM LINK LH MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips of the drive cable.
b. Remove the 2 drive cable.

HINT: Turn the attachment on the drive cable end and remove the drive cable from the motor.

c. Disconnect the connector, then remove the 2 bolts and motor.

27. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM LINK LH MOTOR ASSEMBLY
28. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET
29. INSTALL BACK WINDOW GLASS WEATHERSTRIP CENTER
30. INSTALL BACK WINDOW GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH
31. INSTALL BACK WINDOW GLASS WEATHERSTRIP RH
32. INSTALL SWITCH, SLIDE ROOF LIMIT
33. INSTALL SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH




34. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY PANEL ASSEMBLY CENTER
a. Install the panel so that the nuts are in the marked position.

HINT: When replacing the bracket, install it by correctly positioning to the marks on the panel.

35. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM UNDER COVER
36. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY NO.2
37. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY




38. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM ASSEMBLY
a. Temporarily install tray trim with the 6 bolts.

HINT: Use the shims stored during removal.

b. Fully open the roof.
c. Close the luggage door.
d. Move the package tray trim back and forth to adjust its position.

Standard: 10.8 mm (0.425 in.)

If the standard value is not satisfied, adjust the installation position of the side panel.

HINT: For vertical adjustment, change the number of the shims to be inserted.

e. Open the luggage door from the front and set the package tray trim to an upright position.
f. Tighten the 6 bolts.

45. FULLY CLOSE ROOF PANEL

Torque:
18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) for bolt
7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 63 in.lbf)for nut

a. Refer to the MANUAL OPERATING procedures, fully close the roof.

46. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
47. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative(-) battery terminal.
