ON-VEHICLE INSPECTIONHINT: Inspect these items on a cooled down engine.
1. REPLACE TIMING BELT
2. INSPECT DRIVE BELT
3. REPLACE SPARK PLUG
4. INSPECT AIR FILTER
a. Remove the air filter.
b. Visually check that the air filter is not excessively damaged, dirty or oily. Replace the air filter if necessary.
c. Clean the filter with compressed air.
HINT: First blow from the inside of the filter thoroughly. Then repeat from the outside.
d. Reinstall the air filter.
5. REPLACE ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER
6. REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT AND INSPECT RADIATOR
7. INSPECT GASKET IN FUEL TANK CAP
8. INSPECT FUEL LINES AND CONNECTIONS, FUEL TANK VAPOR VENT SYSTEM HOSES AND FUEL TANK BANDS
a. Visually check the fuel lines and vapor vent system hoses for cracks, leakage, loose connections and deformation. Also check the tank band for looseness.
9. INSPECT EXHAUST PIPE AND MOUNTING
a. Visually check the pipes, hangers and connections for severe corrosion, leaks and damage.
10. INSPECT VALVE CLEARANCE
