Wheels and Tires: Service Precautions
PRECAUTION1. IN CASE OF REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR VALVE
a. When installing a tire, prevent damage to the sensor by making sure that the tire pressure monitor valve does not interfere with the tire bead.
b. After completing the operation, remove the valve core to rapidly release air and check that the warning lamp is illuminated. If not, the system may be defective.
c. When replacing the tire pressure monitor valve, replace it with the one which has the same identification paint color.
d. If there is air leakage, tighten the nut with 3.0 Nm (31 kgf-cm, 27 inch lbs.). If the air is still leaking, replace the grommet together with the washer and nut.
e. When installing the tire pressure monitor valve, check whether the rim, grommet, washer and nut are clean. Clean them if necessary.
2. IN CASE OF TIRE AND WHEEL REPLACEMENT OR TIRE ROTATION
a. When replacing tires, be sure to check if the grommet of the tire pressure monitor valve is damaged or not. If so, replace the grommet together with the washer and nut.
b. When tires and wheels are replaced, register the transmitter ID.
