INTRODUCTION:
Customers may experience difficulty in opening the front cupholder after closing. A newly designed cupholder has been developed to help improve this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2002 - 2005 model year SC430 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

NOTE:
Use the nylon tool to prevent interior damage when removing panels.







1. Remove the front seat heater control panel.






2. Remove the console panel sub-assembly upper. Using a plastic pry tool, disengage the 6 clips and 4 claws. Remove the console panel sub-assembly upper and then disconnect the connector.

HINT:
Set the shift lever into N range and close the receptacle door. Ensure that the parking brake has been engaged prior to moving the shift lever from "Park" to "Neutral".







3. Disconnect the audio panel door switch and cigarette lighter wire harnesses from the console panel sub-assembly.

NOTE:
The receptacle door must be closed.







4. Flip over the console panel and remove the 4 screws to remove the cupholder.






5. Remove the 2 screws through the access holes in the cupholder assembly to remove the cupholder wood panel fascia.
6. Remove the wood panel fascia and install onto the new cupholder.

NOTE:
Be careful not to overtighten the screws.


7. Reverse the steps to reinstall the cupholder and the console panel sub-assembly.

NOTE:
The receptacle door must be closed.


8. Function check the operation of the components.
