Component Inspection

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY




a. Apply battery voltage to the windshield washer motor connector and check operation of the windshield washer motor.




If the result is not as specified, replace the motor and pump assembly.

2. INSPECT HEADLAMP CLEANER WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY




a. Apply battery voltage to the washer motor connector and check operation of the headlamp cleaner washer motor and pump.




If the result is not as specified, replace the motor and pump assembly.

3. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (HEADLAMP CLEANER SWITCH)




a. Measure the resistance of the switch.




If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.

4. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY




a. Check operation.

1. Remove the windshield wiper motor.
2. Apply battery voltage to the wiper motor connector and check operation of the wiper motor.




If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.

b. Check automatic stop operation.




1. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 5 (+1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4 (E), operate the motor at low speed and stop the motor operation anywhere except at the stop position by disconnecting positive (+) lead.
2. Using a service wire, connect terminals 5 (+1) and 1 (S).
3. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (B). Check that the motor operates again and stops at the stop position.

If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.

5. INSPECT LEVEL WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY




a. Measure the resistance of the sensor.




If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor assembly.
