Hood Sensor/Switch (For Alarm): Service and Repair

Engine Hood Courtesy Switch:




ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
2. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (W/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)
4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY




a. Using a screwdriver, remove the hood lock nut cap as shown in the illustration.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




b. Remove the 2 bolts and nut.




c. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and connector.
d. Remove the hood lock assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY




a. Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the lock.




b. Connect the hood lock control cable and connector.




c. Install the hood lock assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

d. Install a new hood lock nut cap.

2. INSTALL MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (W/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)
3. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
5. ADJUST MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (W/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)
6. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR FOG LIGHT AIM
7. PREPARATION FOR FOG LIGHT
8. FOG LIGHT AIMING INSPECTION
9. FOG LIGHT AIMING ADJUSTMENT
