Central Control Module: Service and Repair
Network Gateway ECU:
NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.
2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
5. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH
6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL RH
8. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
a. Remove the 2 nuts and the bolt and disengage the certification ECU with instrument panel wire.
b. Turn the certification ECU with instrument panel wire in the direction indicated by the arrow.
NOTE: Do not apply excessive force.
c. Disconnect the connector.
d. Remove the nut and network gateway ECU.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
a. Install the network gateway ECU with the nut.
b. Connect the connector.
c. Install the certification ECU with instrument panel wire with the bolt and 2 nuts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
2. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL RH
4. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH
5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
6. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
7. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
8. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH
9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION Testing and Inspection
NOTE: Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
11. INSPECT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
