Introduction

Under certain driving conditions, some vehicles may exhibit a M.I.L. "ON" condition with DTC P2716 (Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Electrical [Shift Solenoid SLT]) and no noticeable change in vehicle operation. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) has been revised to address this issue.

^ 2007 model year ES 350 vehicles.

Applicable Warranty*
This repair is covered under the Lexus Powertrain Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 72 months or 70,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure

1. Inspect the transmission wire (SLT).





A. Remove the TCM from the transaxle.

B. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard Resistance

C. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard Resistance: Check for Short

2. If the transmission wire and shift solenoid SLT resistance is within specification, remove and replace the TCM. If NOT, complete Repair Manual diagnostics to determine the cause of the M.I.L. "ON".
