Seat Belt Control Module: Service and Repair

Seat Belt Control ECU:




SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
3. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY
4. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK
6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
7. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER RH
8. REMOVE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU




a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 2 bolts.
c. Disengage the claw and clip and remove the seat belt control ECU.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU




a. Engage the claw.
b. Engage the clip.
c. Install the seat belt control ECU with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf

d. Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER RH
3. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
4. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK
5. INSTALL LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY 89
6. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY
7. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
