Aerodynamics
Aerodynamics1 In addition to using various flush-surface parts on the upper body, various types of airflow guiding parts have been provided under the body to control the flow of air under the floor. Together with a flat underfloor, superior aerodynamic performance has been achieved. Thus, high levels of driving stability and straightline stability at high driving speeds have been achieved. Furthermore, wind noise during high driving speeds has been reduced to enhance the level of comfort.
1 Spats have been provided in front of the front and rear tires in order to guide the airflow in front of the tires. Thus, the amount of air that drags into the wheel housings has been reduced. As a result, the fluctuation of airflow that occurs around the tires has been suppressed, thus ensuring a high level of straightline stability during high-speed driving.
1 An engine under rear cover and an air shield plate have been provided at the engine under cover side in order to reduce the amount of air that flows under the floor from the engine compartment.
