FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

Front Seat Assembly:

DISASSEMBLY

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.

HINT: Use the same procedures for the LH and RH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the knob.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

3. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the knob.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD WITH NO. 1 CUSHION SHIELD INNER (for Front Driver Side)

a. Disconnect the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board from the front seat frame.
b. Disconnect the connector from the No. 1 interior illumination light assembly.

c. Remove the 5 screws.
d. Detach the claw and remove the cushion shield (with No. 1 cushion shield inner) in the order indicated in the illustration.
e. Disconnect the connector from the front power seat lumbar switch.

5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD WITH NO. 1 CUSHION SHIELD INNER (for Front Passenger Side)

a. Disconnect the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board from the front seat frame.
b. Disconnect the connector from the No. 1 interior illumination light assembly.

c. Remove the 7 screws.
d. Detach the claw and remove the cushion shield (with No. 1 cushion shield inner) in the order indicated in the illustration.
e. Disconnect the connector from the front power seat lumbar switch.

6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Detach the claw and disconnect the cushion shield inner from the cushion shield.

7. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT LUMBAR SWITCH
a. Remove the 2 screws and switch.

8. REMOVE SEAT TRACK SPACER LOWER OUTER
a. Remove the 2 screws and spacer.

9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER
a. Remove the screw.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

c. Using a clip remover, detach the clip and remove the cushion shield.

10. REMOVE SEAT TRACK SPACER LOWER INNER
a. Remove the 2 screws and spacer from the cushion shield inner.

11. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH (w/o Seat Position Memory System)
a. Remove the 3 screws.
b. Disconnect the connector and remove the switch.

12. REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Position Memory System)

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the front power seat switch.

13. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER

a. Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps.

b. Detach the clamp of the headrest adjuster's cable (driver side).
c. Disconnect the hook of the front seat cushion cover from the front seat frame.

d. Using a screwdriver, detach the hooks and remove the front seat cushion cover with pad.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

e. Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover from the seat cushion pad.

14. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

a. Open the lower part of the seatback board. Then remove the 2 screws.

b. Pull the seatback board in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 claws. Then, remove the seatback board.

15. REMOVE INTERIOR NO. 2 ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY
a. Detach the 2 claws and remove the light from the seatback board.

16. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

a. Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.

b. Remove the 4 bolts and front seatback cover (inner and outer).

c. Remove the hog rings and open the upper part of the seatback cover.

d. Remove the nut and 2 seatback cover brackets.
e. Detach the hooks and remove the hog rings and the seatback cover with pad from the seat frame.

f. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover from the seatback pad.

17. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH LOWER
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Detach the claw and remove the inside cover.

18. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH LOWER
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Detach the claw and remove the inside cover.

19. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH UPPER
a. Remove the screw.
b. Detach the claw and remove the inside cover.

20. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH UPPER
a. Remove the screw.
b. Detach the claw and remove the inside cover.

21. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER INNER AND OUTER
a. Remove the screw and detach the hook of the cushion shield.

22. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector and clamps.
b. Remove the 2 screws and lumbar support adjuster.

23. REMOVE SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)
a. Disconnect the connector and detach the 3 clamps.
b. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the 6 "TORX" bolts and remove the seatback climate control cover and blower.

24. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL DUCT (w/ Climate Control Seat System)
a. Detach the 2 hooks and 2 claws and remove the duct.

25. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the screw, detach the claw and remove the blower with bracket.
c. Remove the 3 bolts, 3 bushes and blower from the bracket.

26. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

a. Disconnect the cable from the front seat frame inner side.

b. Disconnect the cable from the front seat frame underside.

c. Remove the headrest lock release button.

d. Remove the 2 bolts and headrest adjuster from the seat frame.

27. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Driver Side)
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Detach the claw and remove the seat slide position sensor protector.
c. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the "TORX" bolt and airbag sensor.

28. REMOVE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Heater System)
a. Disconnect the connector and detach the clamp.

29. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR (for Front Passenger Side)
a. Remove the 2 clips.
b. Disconnect the sensor connector and remove the sensor.

30. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side)
a. Remove the 2 nuts.
b. Disconnect the ECU connector and remove the ECU.

31. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE

REASSEMBLY

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat adjuster may injure your hands.

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH and RH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE

2. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side)
a. Connect the ECU connector.
b. Install the ECU with the 2 nuts.

3. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR (for Front Passenger Side)
a. Connect the sensor connector. b.Attach the 2 clips to install the sensor.

4. INSTALL SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Heater System)
a. Connect the connector and attach the clamp.

5. INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Driver Side)
a. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, temporarily install the seat position airbag sensor with the "TORX" bolt.
b. Install a 1 mm (0.04 in.) feeler gauge between the slide rail and sensor.

HINT: Make sure that the clearance between the seat position airbag sensor and the slide rail is within 0.6 to 1.4 mm (0.023 to 0.055 in.).

CAUTION:
- If the seat position airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the seat position airbag sensor with a new one.
- When installing the seat position airbag sensor, make sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.

c. Hold down the top of the sensor and tighten the sensor using a T30 "TORX" socket.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

d. Remove the feeler gauge.
e. Install the seat slide position sensor protector.
f. Connect the wire harness connector.

6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

a. Install the headrest adjuster to the seat frame with the 2 bolts.
b. Install the headrest lock release button.

c. Connect the cable to the front seat frame.
d. Remove all the slack from the cable by adjusting the nut.

e. Clamp the cable to the front seat frame with the cable tie as shown in the illustration.

f. Cut off the cable tie, as shown in the illustration.

7. INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)
a. Install the blower and 3 bushes to the bracket with the 3 bolts.
b. Install the blower with bracket and attach the claw. Then install the screw.
c. Connect the connector.

8. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL DUCT (w/ Climate Control Seat System)
a. Attach the 2 hooks and 2 claws, and install the duct

9. INSTALL SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)
a. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, install the blower cover and blower to the seat frame with the 6 "TORX" bolts.
b. Connect the connector and attach the 3 clamps.

10. INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the lumbar support adjuster with the 2 screws.
b. Connect the connector.

11. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER INNER AND OUTER
a. Install the cushion shield with the screw.

12. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH UPPER
a. Install the inside cover with the screw.

13. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH UPPER
a. Install the inside cover with the screw.

14. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH LOWER
a. Install the inside cover with the 2 screws.

15. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH LOWER
a. Install the inside cover with the 2 screws.

16. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

a. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.
b. Install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat frame.
c. Install the 2 headrest supports.
d. Fully cover the airbag with the 2 seatback cover brackets and tighten the nut.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

CAUTION:
- For vehicles with side airbags, the seatback cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the side airbags may not deploy properly.
- Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
- Install the bracket securely.

e. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat frame with new hog rings, and attach the hooks.
f. Install the front seatback cover inner and outer with the 4 bolts.

17. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the 2 claws and install the seatback board with the 2 screws.

18. INSTALL INTERIOR NO. 2 ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the 2 claws to install the light.

19. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER

a. Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion pad with new hog rings.

b. Install the seat cushion cover (with pad) to the seat frame and attach the hooks.

c. Attach the clamp of the headrest adjuster's cable (driver side).

20. INSTALL FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (w/o Seat Position Memory System)
a. Connect the connector.
b. Install the switch with the 3 screws.

21. INSTALL POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Position Memory System)

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the position control ECU and switch.

22. INSTALL SEAT TRACK SPACER LOWER INNER
a. Install the spacer to the front cushion shield with the 2 screws.

23. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER
a. Attach the clip and 2 claws to install the cushion shield inner.
b. Install the screw.

24. INSTALL SEAT TRACK SPACER LOWER OUTER
a. Install the spacer to the front cushion shield with the 2 screws.

25. INSTALL FRONT POWER SEAT LUMBAR SWITCH
a. Install the switch to the front cushion shield with the 2 screws.

26. CONNECT NO. 1 FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER
a. Attach the claw and connect the No. 1 cushion shield inner to the front cushion shield.
b. Install the 2 screws.

27. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD WITH CUSHION SHIELD INNER (for Front Driver Side)
a. Connect the connector to the lumbar front power seat switch.
b. Attach the 2 claws and install the cushion shield with cushion shield inner.
c. Install the 5 screws.
d. Connect the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board to the seat frame.
e. Connect the connector to the interior No. 1 illumination light.

28. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD WITH CUSHION SHIELD INNER (for Front Passenger Side)
a. Connect the connector to the lumbar front power seat switch.
b. Attach the 2 claws and install the cushion shield with cushion shield inner.
c. Install the 7 screws.
d. Connect the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board to the seat frame.
e. Connect the connector to the interior No. 1 illumination light.

29. INSTALL RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
