Removal and Installation

Generator:

GENERATOR

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE RH

4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET
a. Remove the bolt and inlet.

5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE

6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts and cover.

7. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
8. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT

9. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

a. Disconnect the generator connector.
b. Remove the bolt and bracket.
c. Detach the rubber cap, and then remove the nut and battery cable.

d. Remove the bolt and ground cable.
e. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and generator.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

a. Install the generator with the bolt and 2 nuts.

HINT: Install the bolt and 2 nuts in alphabetical order.

Torque:
39 N.m (398 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf) for bolt A and nut B
15.5 N.m (158 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf) for nut C

b. Install the ground cable with bolt D.

c. Install the battery cable with the nut, and then attach the rubber cap.

Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)

d. Install the bracket with the bolt.

Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)

e. Connect the cable to the generator.

2. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT
3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE

4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET
a. Install the inlet with the bolt.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

5. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE RH
6. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
7. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER

8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the cover with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
