INTRODUCTION:
When replacing the brake pads on an ECB (Electronically Controlled Brake) system equipped vehicle, retracting the caliper's piston and installing new brake pads may cause Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) to set the next time the brake pedal is depressed. Use the procedure in this TSB to check for DTCs after brake pad replacement.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2006 -- 2007 model year GS 430 and RX 400h vehicles.
- 2007 model year GS 450h vehicles.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. If a DTC in the table is present, proceed to Step 2. If a DTC other than the ones listed, proceed with normal diagnosis for that DTC.
2. Using the Diagnostic Tester, clear the DTC.
3. Test drive vehicle.
- If the DTC does not return, the repair is complete.
- If the DTC returns, perform diagnosis as described in the Repair Manual.
