Registration
REGISTRATION1. READ TRANSMITTER ID
(a) When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver, read the ID stored in the old ECU using the intelligent tester.
(b) When replacing the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter, read the ID written on the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter.
2. REGISTER TRANSMITTER ID
NOTICE:
It is necessary to register the transmitter ID in the tire pressure warning ECU when replacing the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter and/or tire pressure warning ECU.
(a) Set the air pressure of the 4 wheels to the specified value (Procedure "A").
Standard pressure: 240 kPa (2.4 kgf/cm2, 35 psi)
(b) Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3 (Procedure "B").
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG) (Procedure "C").
(d) Read the IDs (ID1 to ID4) by using the DATA LIST, and write down the IDs (Procedure "D").
(e) Select "Utility" and then "ID Registration" on the intelligent tester screen (Procedure "E").
NOTICE:
^ The registered IDs in the ECU memory will be deleted when performing the registration.
^ If the system is in the initialization mode, it is unable to perform registration. Therefore, restart the registration after terminating the initialization or confirming that the initialization has been completed.
(f) Select the registration mode "MAIN".
HINT:
Select "2nd" when registering in 2nd.
(g) Input the ID (ID1 to ID4) using the intelligent tester and transmit it to the tire pressure warning ECU (Procedure "F").
HINT:
If the procedures D to F are not completed within 5 minutes, the mode will return to normal operation mode.
(h) Set the ID transmission condition to "ID Registration is complete" (Procedure "G").
(i) Disconnect the intelligent tester with the power switch OFF.
3. CONFIRMATION OF TRANSMITTER ID REGISTRATION
(a) Set the air pressure of the 4 wheels to the specified value.
Standard pressure: 240 kPa (2.4 kgf/cm2, 35 psi)
(b) Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(d) Select "Signal Check" on the intelligent tester.
(e) Perform forced transmission of the transmitter IDs of the 4 wheels.
(1) Remove the valve core to rapidly reduce the pressure (above 40 kPa (0.4 kgf/cm2, 5.8 psi)/ 30 sec.).
HINT:
The transmitter ID can be transmitted by rapidly reducing the tire air pressure.
(2) Perform the step mentioned above to all tires.
(f) Check that test mode DTCs C2181/81, C2182/82, C2183/83, C2184/84 are all cleared.
HINT:
^ The transmitter ID registration is completed when the test mode DTCs are cleared.
^ If the DTCs have not been cleared, reset the tire pressure to the specified value and rotate the tire 90 to 270 degrees. Then perform forced transmission of the transmitter IDs of all wheels.
If the DTCs are still output, register the transmitter IDs.
(g) Set the pressure of the 4 wheels to the specified value.
4. PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING THE INSTALLED WHEEL'S TRANSMITTER ID STATUS ("MAIN" OR "2ND")
(a) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(b) Set the tire pressure warning select switch to the "MAIN" position.
(c) Set the tire pressure of the 4 wheels to the specified value. (Procedure "C")
Standard pressure: 240 kPa (2.4 kgf/cm2, 35 psi)
(d) Remove the valve core to rapidly reduce the pressure (above 40 kPa (0.4 kgf/cm2), 5.8 psi/30 sec.). (Procedure "D")
(e) Check the following conditions. (Procedure "E")
^ Tire pressure warning light turns on.
^ Each tire pressure data displayed on the intelligent tester screen has been changed.
(f) If both conditions above are met, the transmitter ID of the currently installed wheel is registered in the "MAIN". If either of the conditions is not met, perform the next step.
(g) Switch the tire pressure warning select switch to "2nd" and perform Procedure "C" to "E". If both conditions are met, the transmitter ID of the currently installed wheel is registered in "2nd".
