Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair
Cruise Control Main Switch:
CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE NO.2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER
3. REMOVE NO.3 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER
4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 2 screws and switch.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH
a. Install the switch with the 2 screws.
Torque: 1.7 to 3.0 N.m (17 to 31 kgf.cm, 15 to 27 in.lbf)
b. Connect the connector.
2. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL PAD
4. INSTALL NO.3 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER
5. INSTALL NO.2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER
6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
8. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
