Headlamp Alignment Sensor: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Connect the 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
b. Remove the front height control sensor.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 1.




d. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 and 1 while slowly moving the link up and down.

If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.

2. INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Connect the 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
b. Remove the rear height control sensor.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 1.




d. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 and 1 while slowly moving the link up and down.

If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.
