BATTERIES

REMOVAL

1. PERFORM SERVICE PLUG GRIP
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH
4. REMOVE TOOL BOX




5. REMOVE BATTERY
a. Disconnect the cable from negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

b. Disconnect the cable from positive (+) battery terminal.
c. Disconnect the thermistor sensor connector.
d. Disconnect the battery room ventilation hose.
e. Disconnect the wire harness of the fuse holder's clamp from the battery clamp.
f. Remove the bolt, nut and battery clamp.
g. Remove the battery.

6. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY
a. Remove the 3 bolts and tray.




7. REMOVE NO.2 BATTERY (for Active Stabilizer System)
a. Disconnect the cable from negative (-) battery terminal.
b. Disconnect the cable from positive (+) battery terminal.
c. Remove the battery insulator.
d. Disconnect the battery room ventilation hose.
e. Remove the bolt, nut and battery clamp.
f. Remove the battery.




8. REMOVE ACTIVE STABILIZER BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for Active Stabilizer System)
a. Disconnect the sensor connector.
b. Remove the bolt from the body panel.
c. Remove the nut and sensor.

9. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY (for Active Stabilizer System)
a. Remove the 3 bolts and tray.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY (for Active Stabilizer System)
a. Install the tray with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)




2. INSTALL ACTIVE STABILIZER BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for Active Stabilizer System)
a. Install the cable to the body panel with the bolt.

Torque: 8.4 N.m (86 kgf.cm, 74 in.lbf)

b. Install the sensor with the bolt.

Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)

c. Connect the sensor connector.




3. INSTALL NO.2 BATTERY (for Active Stabilizer System)
a. Install the battery.
b. Install the battery clamp with the bolt and nut.

Torque:
4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf) for bolt

2.9 N.m (30 kgf.cm, 26 in.lbf) for nut

c. Connect the battery room ventilation hose.
d. Install the battery insulator.
e. Connect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.

Torque: 5.6 N.m (57 kgf.cm, 50 in.lbf)

f. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

Torque: 5.6 N.m (57 kgf.cm, 50 in.lbf)

4. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY
a. Install the tray with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)




5. INSTALL BATTERY
a. Install the battery.
b. Install the battery clamp with the bolt and nut.

Torque:
4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf) for bolt

2.9 N.m (30 kgf.cm, 26 in.lbf) for nut

c. Connect the wire harness of the fuse holder's clamp to the battery clamp.
d. Connect the thermistor sensor connector.
e. Connect the battery room ventilation hose.
f. Connect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.

Torque: 5.6 N.m (57 kgf.cm, 50 in.lbf)

g. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

Torque: 5.6 N.m (57 kgf.cm, 50 in.lbf)

NOTE: When the warning light is illuminated or the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, turning the power switch may not start the system on the first try. If so, turn the power switch again.

6. INSTALL TOOL BOX
7. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH
8. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
9. INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP
10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
