Diagnosis System
DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM1. CHECK DLC3
(a) The vehicle's tire pressure warning ECU uses ISO 15765-4 for communication. The terminal arrangement of the DLC3 complies with SAE J1962 and matches the ISO 15765-4 format.
Part 1:
Part 2:
NOTICE:
*: Before measuring the resistance, leave the vehicle as is for at least 1 minute and do not operate the power switch, any other switches or the doors.
If the result is not as specified, the DLC3 may have a malfunction. Repair or replace the harness and connector.
HINT:
Connect the cable of the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3, turn the power switch ON (IG) and attempt to use the tester. If the display indicates that a communication error has occurred, there is a problem either with the vehicle or with the tester.
^ If communication is normal when the tester is connected to another vehicle, inspect the DLC3 of the original vehicle.
^ If communication is still not possible when the tester is connected to another vehicle, the problem may be in the tester itself. Consult the Service Department listed in the tester's instruction manual.
2. DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
(a) Warning light and indicator
(1) When there is a problem with the tire pressure warning system, "CHECK SYSTEM" is displayed on the multi-information display, the master warning light comes on and the tire pressure warning light blinks at 0.5 second intervals.
NOTICE:
When the malfunction has been corrected, the tire pressure warning light does not turn on and "CHECK SYSTEM" is not displayed.
(b) DTCs (Normal mode)
(1) DTCs are memorized in the tire pressure warning ECU and can be read by using the intelligent tester.
(c) Test mode
(1) By switching from the normal mode to the test mode (input signal check), you can inspect the tire pressure warning ECU, each tire pressure warning valve and transmitter and each vehicle speed sensor.
3. CHECK WARNING LIGHT
(a) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(b) Check that the tire pressure warning light comes on for 3 seconds.
If the warning light does not illuminate for 3 seconds, proceed to the troubleshooting for the tire pressure warning light circuit.
4. TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT AND INDICATOR CHART
HINT:
The table indicates the state of the tire pressure warning light and indicator after the power switch is turned ON (IG).
HINT:
*1: Turns on and turns off repeatedly at 0.5 second intervals.
HINT:
The tire pressure warning light blinks for approximately 1 minute and then remains on.
*2: Turns on and turns off repeatedly at 0.125 second intervals.
*3: Blinks 3 times (1 second on, 1 second off).
*4: When there is no DTC, "OK" is displayed; when there is a DTC, the DTC is displayed.
