Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair

CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH

Cruise Control Main Switch:





REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE NO.2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER




3. REMOVE SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE
a. Apply protective tape to the steering wheel boss cover lower as shown in the illustration.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the case.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




4. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Remove the modulator and then disconnect the connector.

5. REMOVE STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY




7. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 3 screws.




b. Reverse the steering wheel and remove the 3 screws.
c. Remove the steering wheel boss cover lower and switch.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Install the switch and steering wheel boss cover lower.
b. Install the 3 screws.




c. Install the 3 screws.

2. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY




4. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR
a. Install the modulator and then connect the connector.
b. Install the 2 screws.




5. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE
a. Attach the 3 claws to install the case.

6. INSTALL NO.2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

9. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light
