Headlamp Control Module: Service and Repair

AFS ECU

REMOVAL

HINT: A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts and hood control lever.

5. REMOVE NO.1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY




6. REMOVE AFS ECU
a. Disconnect the ECU connector.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and ECU.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL AFS ECU
a. Install the ECU with the 2 bolts.
b. Connect the ECU connector.

2. INSTALL NO.1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the hood lock control lever with the 2 bolts.

4. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
5. INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
