Fuel Lid Courtesy Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The fuel filler opening lid lock (fuel lid courtesy switch) detects the fuel filler door open/close condition.
If the fuel lid courtesy switch is malfunctioning, "CLOSE FUEL LID" is displayed on the multi-information display even if the fuel filler door is closed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FUEL LID)
(a) Use the DATA LIST to check if the courtesy switch is functioning properly.

OK:
When the switch is operating, the Techstream displays as shown in the chart.
B -- GO TO SFI SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the lid lock.
(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK - ECM AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the V41 lid lock connector.
(b) Disconnect the A53 ECM connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
