BRAKE: FRONT BRAKE: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
CAUTION: When the brake caliper is removed from the brake disc, do not start the hybrid system. If the hybrid system is started, the brake fluid pressure may increase.
1. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the disc brake caliper with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 78 Nm (795 kgf-cm, 57 ft-lbf)
2. CONNECT FRONT BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE
(a) Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.
Torque: 39 Nm (400 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf)
NOTE: Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the disc brake caliper.
3. INSTALL DISC BRAKE PAD KIT FRONT (PAD ONLY)
(a) Apply disc brake grease to the anti-squeal shims and install them to each pad.
HINT: Install the clip lock securely in the groove of the pad.
NOTICE:
- When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pad.
- Install each shim in the correct position and direction.
- There should be no oil or grease on the friction surface of the pads and the disc.
4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE SPRING
5. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE WITH HOLE PIN
(a) Install the hole pin while pushing on the anti-rattle spring.
(b) Install the clip.
6. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL Service and Repair
7. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair
8. BLEED AIR FROM FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM Service and Repair
9. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR Service and Repair
10. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
11. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
12. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC
(a) Check and clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
