PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY: REASSEMBLY

REASSEMBLY
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
CAUTION: When the brake caliper is removed from the brake disc, do not start the hybrid system. If the hybrid system is started, the brake fluid pressure may increase.

1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ANCHOR BLOCK






(a) Install the parking brake anchor block with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 76 Nm (775 kgf-cm, 56 ft-lbf)
(b) Install the rear axle hub and bearing Installation.
2. APPLY HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE
(a) Apply a thin layer of high temperature grease to the area where the parking brake plate contacts the parking brake shoe Components.
3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER






(a) Apply a thin layer of high temperature grease to the area where the parking brake shoe lever contacts the parking brake anchor block.
(b) Install the parking brake shoe lever to the parking brake cable.
NOTE: Take care to install the correct parking brake shoe lever because the direction of the pin is different between left and right.

4. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY






(a) Using SST, install the shoe with the spring cup, compression spring and shoe hold down spring pin.
SST: 09718-00011
HINT: Use the service hole to retain the shoe hold down spring pin with your finger.

5. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY






(a) Using SST, install the shoe with the spring cup, compression spring and shoe hold down spring pin.
SST: 09718-00011
6. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET






(a) Apply high temperature grease to the thread and all joining areas of the shoe adjusting screw set.






(b) Install the shoe adjusting screw set.
7. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING






(a) Install the shoe return spring.
8. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING






(a) Install the shoe return spring.
9. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION
(a) Make sure that all the parts are installed properly.
If necessary, reinstall properly.





10. INSTALL REAR DISC
(a) Align the matchmarks on the rear disc and rear axle hub.
11. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE Adjustments

12. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY






(a) Install the brake caliper with the 2 bolts and 2 new caliper plates.
Torque: 54 Nm (550 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf)
- Do not twist the brake hose.
- Make sure that the bolts are free from damage and foreign matter.
- Do not overtighten the bolts.

13. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

15. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL Adjustments
