Inside Handle Illumination Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The inside handle illumination light illuminates when the door is opened and turns off when the door is closed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK OPERATION OF INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION
(a) When a door is opened, check that the following inside handle illumination lights illuminate.

D -- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (REAR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION RH)
C -- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (REAR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LH)
B -- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION)
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the inside handle illumination light illuminates.

Driver Door (Front multiplex network door ECU LH)





OK:
Light illuminates.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
3. REPLACE FRONT INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LH
(a) Temporarily replace the front inside handle illumination LH with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the illumination light illuminates.
OK:
Inside handle illumination light illuminates.
OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR ECU LH - FRONT INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LH)





(a) Disconnect the M9 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the Q9 light connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the inside handle illumination light illuminates.

Passenger Door (Front multiplex network door ECU RH)





OK:
Light illuminates.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
6. REPLACE FRONT INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION RH
(a) Temporarily replace the front inside handle illumination RH with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the illumination light illuminates.
OK:
Inside handle illumination light illuminates.
OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR ECU RH - FRONT INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION RH)





(a) Disconnect the M4 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the Q1 light connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (REAR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LH)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the rear inside handle illumination LH illuminates.

Rear Left Door (Rear multiplex network door ECU LH)





OK:
Light illuminates.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
9. REPLACE REAR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LH
(a) Temporarily replace the rear inside handle illumination LH with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the illumination light illuminates.
OK:
Inside handle illumination light illuminates.
OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.
10. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR DOOR ECU LH - REAR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LH)





(a) Disconnect the O7 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S7 light connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
11. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (REAR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION RH)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the rear inside handle illumination RH illuminates.

12. REPLACE REAR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION RH
(a) Temporarily replace the rear inside handle illumination RH with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the illumination light illuminates.

13. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR DOOR ECU RH - REAR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION RH)





(a) Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
