INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT FOG LIGHT RELAY)
(a) Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the fog light illuminates.
Body No. 5 (Front light ECU)
OK:
Front fog light illuminates.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FUSE (FR FOG, FR CTRL-AM)
(a) Remove the FR CTRL-AM and FR FOG fuses from the engine room No. 1 relay block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the fuses.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. REPLACE FRONT FOG LIGHT BULB
(a) Temporarily replace the fog light bulb with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the bulb illuminates.
OK:
Fog light bulb illuminates.
OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - BATTERY)
(a) Disconnect the 1Y ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - LIGHT AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Check the wire harness between the front fog light LH and front light ECU, and the front fog light LH and body ground.
(1) Disconnect the 1Z ECU connector.
(2) Disconnect the B12 light connector.
(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
(b) Check the wire harness between the front fog light RH and front control ECU, and the front fog light RH and body ground.
(1) Disconnect the 1Z ECU connector.
(2) Disconnect the B1 light connector.
(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
