Pre-Collision System
PRE-COLLISION: PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM: U1119: Lost Communication with Object Recognition ECU
DTC U1119 - Lost Communication with Object Recognition ECU
DTC U1119 - Lost Communication with Object Recognition ECU
DTC U1120 - Lost Communication with Object Recognition Camera
DESCRIPTION
The driving support ECU uses the front millimeter wave radar sensor, driver monitor camera and object recognition camera to detect obstacles in front of and behind the vehicle, and detect the direction that the driver's head is facing. Based on this information, the driving support ECU sends pre-collision control operation signals.
When a serial communication stop between the object recognition ECU and object recognition camera is detected, DTCs U1119 and U1120 are output.
When a CAN communication stop between the object recognition ECU and driving support ECU is detected, DTC U1119 is output.
This DTC is also output from the dynamic radar cruise control system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (OBJECT RECOGNITION ECU)
(a) Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, enter the following menus:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / RADAR CRUISE / DATA LIST.
RADAR CRUISE
(2) Techstream - Select: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Data List.
Radar Cruise
(b) Check the condition of the "COM ERR-ORE*1 or Communication with Object Recognition ECU*2" DATA LIST item.
HINT: As the "COM ERR-ORE*1 or Communication with Object Recognition ECU*2" item monitors the CAN communication condition, distinguishing between a CAN communication malfunction and serial communication malfunction is possible. If a CAN communication malfunction may be present, proceed to the DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART.
Result
HINT: *1: for Intelligent tester
*2: for Techstream
B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OBJECT RECOGNITION ECU - OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA)
(a) Disconnect the R25 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the X3 camera connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. REPLACE OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA
(a) Replace the object recognition camera Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
4. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA
(a) Adjust the object recognition camera Adjustments.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, enter the following menus:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / PRE-COLLISION 2 / DTC INFO.
(2) Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Trouble Code.
(b) Select "CLEAR" and clear the data.
(c) Based on the DTC detection conditions, try to simulate the malfunction.
(d) Recheck for DTC.
OK:
DTCs U1119 and U1120 are not output.
NG -- REPLACE OBJECT RECOGNITION ECU
OK -- END
6. REPLACE OBJECT RECOGNITION ECU
(a) Replace the object recognition ECU Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
7. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA
(a) Adjust the object recognition camera Adjustments.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
NG -- REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU
OK -- END
