Removal








ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: FRONT DOOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Battery

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
- After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH






(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the bezel plug.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. REMOVE FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the power window regulator master switch.
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Remove the 3 screws.
(b) Remove the 13 clips and trim board.
(c) Disconnect the connector.






(d) Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.
7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Detach the claw, disconnect the connector and then remove the light.
8. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY






(a) Detach the claw and remove the courtesy light from the door trim panel.
(b) Disconnect the connector.
9. REMOVE HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE ANCHOR SWITCH






(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Detach the 2 claws and remove the height adjustable anchor switch.
10. REMOVE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH






(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Detach the 4 claws and remove the seat memory switch.
11. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the screw and indicator light assembly.
12. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT BRACKET
(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the indicator light bracket.
13. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT COVER
(a) Remove the indicator light cover.
14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM COVER LH






(a) Remove the screw.
(b) Using a clip remover, detach the 5 clips to remove the trim cover.
15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR BELT MOULDING END COVER LH






(a) Remove the claw and front door belt moulding end cover.
16. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH






(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 clips and garnish.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

17. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal

18. REMOVE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH






(a) Remove the 2 screws and ECU.
(b) Disconnect the 3 connectors.
19. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH
(a) Remove the service hole cover.
HINT: Remove the remaining tape on the door.

20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH
(a) Remove the service hole cover.
HINT: Remove the remaining tape on the door.

21. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH Removal

22. REMOVE FRONT INNER DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH






(a) Detach the 4 claws by pulling the weatherstrip upward in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to remove the weatherstrip.
23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the hole plug.
(b) Driver's Side:
Temporarily install the multiplex network master switch.
(c) Passenger's Side:
Temporarily install the multiplex network switch.
(d) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
(e) Move the door glass until the bolts appear in the service holes.
(f) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.





(g) Remove the 2 bolts.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the bolts as the glass may fall and become damaged.





(h) Remove the door glass in the direction indicated by the arrows in the illustration.
HINT: Remove the glass upward.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the glass.

(i) Driver's Side:
Remove the multiplex network master switch.
(j) Passenger's Side:
Remove the multiplex network switch.
24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH
(a) Remove the front door glass run.
25. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH

27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.
(b) Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill, as shown in the illustration.
(c) Lightly press the drill against the rivet shown in the illustration, and drill off the rivet's flange.





CAUTION: Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.
NOTICE:
- Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
- Do not pry the rivet with the drill, because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivet or the drill bit.

(d) Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled area.






(e) Remove the 2 screws.






(f) Loosen the 5 belt line screws indicated by the arrows in the illustration.
(g) Remove the 4 screws and belt moulding.
28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the 6 bolts and window regulator.
HINT: Remove the window regulator through the service hole.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the bolts as the window regulator may fall and become damaged.

29. REMOVE FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Using a T25 "TORX" driver, remove the 3 screws and motor.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the screws as the motor may fall and become damaged.

30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Remove the 2 bolts and frame.
HINT: Remove the frame through the service hole.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the bolts as the frame may fall and become damaged.

31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Remove the 2 bolts and rear lower frame.
32. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH






(a) Remove the hole plug.
(b) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw and remove the cover with the door lock key cylinder installed.
(c) Remove the cylinder from the cover.
33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw.
(b) Disconnect the connector.






(c) Remove the handle by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.
NOTE: If the release plate is not pulled and held when removing the handle, the release plate will interfere with the handle and become damaged.

34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD






(a) Detach the 3 claws and remove the pad.
35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD






(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the pad.
36. REMOVE NO. 2 SEPARATION DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and cushion.
37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Disconnect the door lock connector.
(b) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 2 screws labeled B and 3 screws labeled A.
HINT: Remove the door lock through the service hole.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the screws as the door lock may fall and become damaged.

38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the claw.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.





(b) Remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly.
39. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.





(b) Remove the front door inside locking cable assembly.
40. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Disconnect the connectors.
(b) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw.
(c) Detach the 2 clamps. Slide the outside handle frame and door No. 2 back door wire to remove it.
HINT: Remove the outside handle frame through the service hole.

(d) Remove the lock open rod from the outside handle frame.
41. REMOVE NO. 2 BACK DOOR WIRE






(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Detach the 2 clamps and remove the wire harness from the frame.
42. REMOVE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Front Door)






(a) Remove the screw and door electrical key oscillator.
43. REMOVE FRONT LOWER DOOR FRAME GARNISH PAD LH






(a) Remove the 2 bolts and frame garnish pad.






44. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the cover.
(b) Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and door check.
HINT: Remove the door check through the service hole.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the bolt and nuts as the door check may fall and become damaged.

45. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH






(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 18 clips and remove the weatherstrip.
HINT: If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.

46. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WIRE LH






(a) Disconnect the connector.
47. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and front door panel.
48. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH






(a) Remove the 3 clips and weatherstrip from the door.
