Seat Vibration System

SEAT: SEAT VIBRATION SYSTEM: OPERATION CHECK

OPERATION CHECK
HINT:
- Turn off all functions by turning the power switch OFF.
- Turn the power switch from OFF to ON (IG) to initialize all LEDs, all operations and the timer function.

1. Inspect MANUAL function
(a) Inspect air operation.

(1) Turn the power switch ON (IG) (stop mode).
(2) Turn the seat vibrator switch ON (standby mode).

(3) In MANUAL mode, turn the SHOULDER or BACK switch ON. Check that the air operation operates.
(4) Check that the INTENSITY switch has 3 levels (low to high) and the SPEED switch has 3 levels (slow to fast).
(b) Inspect vibration operation.

(1) Turn the power switch ON (IG) (stop mode).
(2) Turn the seat vibrator switch ON (standby mode).

(3) When the VIB. switch is turned ON, check that the seat vibrator operates.
HINT: The seat vibrator operation and air operation are separate and independent of each other. When the air operation is OFF, the seat vibrator can be turned ON with the VIB. switch, but cannot be turned OFF with the VIB. switch. When the air operation is ON, the seat vibrator can be turned ON and OFF with the VIB. switch.
(4) Check that the vibration speed can be switched between 7 levels with the VIB. SPEED switch.
HINT: When the VIB. switch is turned ON, the initial vibration speed is level 4 (LEDs 15 to 18 illuminated).

2. Inspect PROGRAM function

(a) Turn the power switch ON (IG) (stop mode).
(b) Turn the seat vibrator switch ON (standby mode).

(c) When the SHIATSU switch is pressed, check that the shoulder and lower back areas operate in combination with each other.

(d) When the STRETCH switch is pressed, check that the shoulder and lower back areas operate in combination with each other.
(e) Check that the INTENSITY switch has 3 levels (low to high) and the SPEED switch has 3 levels (slow to fast).
3. Inspect LED illumination
(a) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(b) Turn the seat vibrator switch ON.
(c) Check that when each seat vibrator switch is pressed, its respective LED illuminates.
(d) Check that when the headlight dimmer switch is turned on, each LED dims.
4. Inspect timer function
(a) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(b) Turn the seat vibrator switch ON.
(c) Choose a function on the seat vibrator switch and start its operation.
HINT: The 15 minute timer counts down from the time that the function is first operated.

(d) After 15 minutes have passed, check that the following operations occur.
- The seat vibrator switch turns OFF.
- All LEDs turn off.
- The air operation stops after releasing the air.

5. Perform ACTIVE TEST
(a) Rear Seatback Mat

(1) While pressing the SW1 to SW4 switches on the seat vibrator switch, turn the power switch ON (IG).
HINT: Before pressing a seat vibrator switch, turn the power switch OFF.
(2) Within 3 seconds of releasing the SW1 to SW4 switches, press the VIB. switch (SW10) 3 times.
HINT:
- Begin pressing the VIB. switch as quickly as possible after turning the power switch ON (IG).
- If the procedure cannot be performed within 3 seconds, start again from the first step.

(3) Check that LED1 illuminates and that LED2 and LED3 blink. (The system has switched to test mode.)
HINT: After switching to test mode, if a switch (SW2 to SW12) is not pressed within 30 seconds, test mode will be canceled.
(4) Press the switch for the air vibration bag position to be checked. Check the inflation operation at each area.

HINT:
- Turning a switch ON inflates the air vibration bag and turning a switch OFF deflates the air vibration bag.
- If performing the check with the pump installed to the vehicle, touch the seat to check the inflation operation.

(5) Press SW1 to cancel test mode.
(b) Seat Vibrator Switch

(1) Disconnect the seat vibrator module connector.
(2) While pressing the SW1, SW2, SW3 and SW5 switches on the seat vibrator switch, turn the power switch ON (IG).
HINT: Before pressing a seat vibrator switch, turn the power switch OFF.
(3) Within 3 seconds of releasing the SW1, SW2, SW3 and SW5 switches, press the VIB. switch (SW10) 3 times.
HINT:
- Begin pressing the VIB. switch as quickly as possible after turning the power switch ON (IG).
- If the procedure cannot be performed within 3 seconds, start again from the first step.
(4) Check that all the LEDs on the seat vibrator switch illuminate. (The system has switched to test mode.)
HINT: After switching to test mode, if a switch (SW2 to SW12) is not pressed within 30 seconds, test mode will be canceled.
(5) Check that when each switch is pressed, its corresponding LED turns off.

HINT: For an LED that has turned off due to the press of a switch, pressing the switch again will illuminate the LED.
(6) Press SW1 to cancel test mode.
