Power Seat Position is not Memorized

DESCRIPTION

When the seat memory SET switch and a memory switch (M1, M2 or M3) are pressed simultaneously, the front multiplex network ECU LH commands the front power seat switch LH (driver seat ECU) through CAN communication to record each position sensor's value.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL FUNCTION
(a) Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switches.
OK:
Each function of power seat operates normally by using seat switches.
NG -- GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION
(a) Perform a memory operation properly. Check that the buzzer sounds to indicate the completion of the memory operation.
NOTICE:
- The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the memory switches (for example, M1 and M2) are pressed simultaneously.
- If a memorizing operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.

OK:
Seat memory switch function operates normally.
NG -- CHECK COMBINATION METER FUNCTION
OK -- SYSTEM IS OK
3. CHECK COMBINATION METER FUNCTION
(a) When the power switch is ON (IG) and the shift lever is on P, check that the combination meter shows that the shift lever is on P.
OK:
Meter shows that shift lever is on P.
NG -- GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (SEAT MEMORY SWITCH)
(a) Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the seat memory switch.

OK:
On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
NG -- INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH
OK -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH
5. INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH





(a) Remove the switch.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR ECU LH - SEAT MEMORY SWITCH)





(a) Disconnect the P10 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the P7 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK FRONT DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION)
(a) After replacing the front door ECU, check that the front power seat control functions operate normally using the front seat switches and seat memory switch.
OK:
Front power seat control functions operate normally
NG -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH
OK -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR ECU LH
