SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: CHECK MODE PROCEDURE

CHECK MODE PROCEDURE
NOTE: Select "SIGNAL CHECK" from the "DTC CHECK" screen displayed on the intelligent tester to clear the output DTCs (both present and past).
HINT:
- DTCs can be detected more sensitively in check mode than in normal diagnosis mode.
- Perform the check mode inspection when a malfunction in each squib circuit is suspected even after the normal system code is output through normal diagnosis mode inspection.

1. CHECK MODE PROCEDURE (Using Intelligent Tester or Techstream)
(a) Check and ensure the following conditions:
(1) Battery positive voltage 11 V to 14 V.
(2) Transmission in the P or N positions.
(3) A/C switch off.
(b) Turn the power switch OFF.
(c) Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
(d) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(e) Turn the tester on.
(f) Select the following menu items.
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / CHECK MODE
(2) Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Check Mode
