BRAKE CONTROL: REAR SPEED SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
NOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.
HINT:
- The procedures listed below are for the RH side.
- Other than areas where instructions are provided, use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Battery

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
- After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER

5. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP Removal

6. REMOVE ROPE HOOK

7. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY

8. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH

9. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY

10. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler) Removal

11. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER

12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE

13. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH

14. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH

15. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
16. REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE






(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.






(b) Disconnect the grommet of the speed sensor wire from the hole of the wheel house.






(c) Disconnect the rear height control sensor connector.
(d) Remove the 2 nuts and 2 sensor clamps.






(e) RH:
Disconnect the pad wear indicator connector (labeled A).
(f) Remove the bolt and sensor clamp.
(g) Disconnect the rear speed sensor connector.
NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
- Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.

17. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR RH






(a) Remove the bolt and sensor.
- The speed sensor is easily damaged. When pulling out the speed sensor from the axle hub, do not use excessive force to rotate and remove it.
- Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
- Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped replace the sensor with a new one.
