Applicability

Introduction

Some 2007 - 2008 model year LS 460, LS 460L, and LS 600h vehicles may exhibit a condition where the Auto Door Closer function is inoperative. The coating material on the weatherstrip has been changed to address this condition. This bulletin provides information to replace the No.2 door weatherstrip on the affected door.

Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure





Front Door No.2 Weatherstrip Removal





1. Remove the clip.

2. Remove the Front Door No.2 Weatherstrip.
Carefully remove the No.2 door seal.

HINT

Double-sided tape is used to retain the door seal at the front edge of the door.

Front Door No.2 Weatherstrip Installation

1. Clean the front door surface.

Remove and clean any of the remaining double-sided tape and adhesive residue from the door.

2. Install the NEW Front Door No.2 Weatherstrip.





A. Remove the protective strip from the adhesive tape.

B. Install the No.2 door seal ensuring that the seal lips engage into the door frame.

C. Reinstall the clip.

3. Check door and door closer for proper operation.





Rear Door No. 2 Weatherstrip Removal





1. Remove the clip.





2. Remove the Front Door No.2 Weatherstrip.

Carefully remove the No.2 door seal.

HINT

Double-sided tape is used to retain the door seal at the rear edge of the door and along the lower front edge of the door.

Rear Door No.2 Weatherstrip Installation

1. Clean the rear door surface.

Remove and clean any of the remaining double-sided tape and adhesive residue from the door.

2. Install the NEW Rear Door No.2 Weatherstrip.

A. Remove the protective strip from the adhesive tape.

B. Install the No.2 door seal ensuring that the seal lips engage into the door frame.





C. Install the clip.

3. Check door and door closer for proper operation.
