DRIVE SHAFT: REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Coat the spline of the inboard joint shaft with gear oil.
(b) Set the shaft snap ring with the opening side facing downward.
(c) Align the shaft splines and install the drive shaft with a brass bar and hammer.
- Be careful not to damage the drive shaft dust cover, boot and oil seal.
- Move the drive shaft while keeping it level.
HINT: Whether the inboard joint shaft is in contact with the pinion shaft or not can be checked from the sound or feeling when driving it in.
2. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
3. INSTALL REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the rear drive shaft to the rear axle assembly.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the drive shaft boot.
4. INSTALL REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
5. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 1 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

7. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

9. TEMPORARILY CONNECT REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

11. CONNECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation

17. CONNECT REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH Installation

19. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE LH
(a) Install the parking brake anchor block and parking cable support bracket with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 76 Nm (775 kgf-cm, 56 ft-lbf)
20. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
21. APPLY HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE Reassembly

33. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH
(a) Clean the threaded parts on the drive shaft and axle hub nut using a non-residue solvent.
NOTICE:
- Be sure to perform this work for a new drive shaft.
- Keep the threaded parts free of oil and foreign objects.
(b) Using a 32 mm socket wrench, install a new rear axle shaft nut.
Torque: 290 Nm (2957 kgf-cm, 214 ft-lbf)
NOTE: Do not stake the shaft nut.
HINT: Stake the shaft nut after the axle hub bearing looseness and axle hub runout inspections.
34. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
35. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS Rear Axle Hub

37. INSTALL REAR DISC Reassembly
38. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH Reassembly

40. INSTALL PAD WEAR INDICATOR WIRE (for RH Side) Installation
41. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH
(a) Install the rear speed sensor with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)
42. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
43. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 5.6 Nm (57 kgf-cm, 50 in-lbf)
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
44. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE Adjustments

46. STAKE REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH
(a) Using a chisel and a hammer, stake the axle shaft nut.

53. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE LH
(a) Install the rear suspension member brace with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)
54. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE RH
(a) Install the rear suspension member brace with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)
55. INSTALL NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR
(a) Install the support protector with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
56. INSTALL NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR
(a) Install the support protector with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
57. CONNECT LOAD SENSING VALVE SENSOR BRACKET LH
(a) Connect the sensor bracket with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
58. CONNECT LOAD SENSING VALVE SENSOR BRACKET RH

59. INSTALL REAR WHEEL Installation
60. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Battery

(a) Perform parking brake shoe bedding Programming and Relearning.

(a) Check the suspension control system Adjustments.
64. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment Rear Wheel Alignment.
65. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
(a) Check speed sensor signal Test Mode Procedure.
66. ADJUST HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
(a) for HID Headlight:
Adjust the headlight Headlight Assembly (for HID Headlight).
(b) for LED Headlight:
Adjust the headlight Headlight Assembly (for LED Headlight).
67. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA
(a) Adjust the object recognition camera Adjustments.
